The weekend is not going to start without the music world learning of a tragic news. According to TMZ, rapper Mac Miller has passed away at the age of 26 on Friday due to a drug overdose. And now, even NBA players are in mourning, as they take to social media to pay their tributes to the deceased hip-hop artist.

Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns is greatly affected by Miller’s passing, saying that he cried over the news.

In a separate Twitter post, Towns gave a clearer picture of the whirlwind of emotions he is feeling as of the moment.

“Not only were you my favorite artist, you was one of my closest friends. The love we had was genuine and the moments we shared were filled with nothing but positivity and laughter. I love you man and I’m sure as hell gonna miss you.”

Free agent Jamal Crawford, New York Knicks center Enes Kanter, Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. and his teammate, Andrew Harrison, Evan Turner of the Portland Trail Blazers, Jerome Robinson of the Los Angeles Clippers have all expressed their sadness and paid tribute to Miller via Twitter.
