It didn't take long for the Los Angeles Clippers to become the laughingstock of the NBA once again. After starting off strong against both the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets for the 2020-21 season, it appears that the team's luck has run out against the Dallas Mavericks.
Going into halftime, the Mavs owned a mammoth 50-point lead over the Clippers with a 77-27 scoreline. Per ESPN, it's the largest halftime deficit in NBA history during the shot-clock era.

In typical Clippers fashion, the internet along with some notable names, made sure to load up their viral memes and take aim at the Lakers' Staples Center co-tenants:

The Clippers are without their top option in Kawhi Leonard, who suffered a face laceration against the Nuggets, but that's no excuse for the vast difference in performance from the two NBA clubs. The luxury of having two stars is being able to turn to the other when one is unavailable.
George was able to contribute 13 points during the first half, but it came with him missing all six of his 3-point attempts. Aside from PG13, most of the efforts by the supporting cast has been absent. Patrick Beverley went scoreless in the first half while most of their other NBA talents only contributed meager efforts to the 27-point half.
Los Angeles picked up some momentum in the third quarter, reaching the 50-point mark with a little over three minutes remaining in the penultimate period.
