After the controversial #GlueGate when an animal activist tried to superglue herself on the court during the Minnesota Timberwolves-Los Angeles Clippers game, another one followed suit. This time, though, a woman interrupted the Wolves' NBA playoffs showdown against the Memphis Grizzlies by chaining herself to the back of the basket.

Midway to the second half of Game 1, the contest was halted briefly after the woman in question went to the court and successfully chained herself. It is unknown if it's a metal chain and how it was able to go pass security, but arena personnel quickly addressed the issue quickly and escorted the woman out of the building in order to get the NBA playoffs going.

While it is is all fun and worth talking about the first time it happened, it is getting concerning that such acts are happening repeatedly.

As mentioned, it started with the controversial Glue Girl who was apparently protesting a factory egg farm in Iowa owned by Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor. The two acts are related, and the common denominator here is the Minnesota franchise.

After the incident, the animal activism group released a press release to take ownership of the protest. They also named the latest woman to protest as Zoe Rosenberg.

Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) — the grassroots animal rights network behind both an investigation exposing animal cruelty at a factory egg farm owned by Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, as well Tuesday night’s protest during the Timberwolves play-in victory — again disrupted play with a mid-game protest.

The protester, DxE organizer Zoe Rosenberg, chained herself to the base of the hoop during the Timberwolves game one Western Conference Quarterfinal matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies. Rosenberg was removed after a brief delay and taken into custody. It’s unknown whether she will face charges.

If such acts continue, the NBA are expected to increase security on the court to avoid further disruptions. With a lot of eyes on the games since it is the playoffs, it is also the perfect opportunity to do such protests. However, it is definitely not a good look.
