The Los Angeles Clippers will play the Phoenix Suns in a Western Conference matchup on Thursday evening. It's time continue our NBA odds series with a Clippers-Suns prediction and pick.

The Clippers and Suns will play on Thursday night in a big west coach matchup. Phoenix is tied with the best record in the NBA this season with the Golden State Warriors and they come into this spot having won three of their last four games. The Clippers are .500 to this point in the season, having battled several injuries to this point and they will continue to do so. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are both currently sidelined and neither looks to be imminent on a return. The Suns will still be without Deandre Ayton, Jae Crowder and others as they continue to try to clear NBA health and safety protocols. Phoenix will still come into this spot at home vs. the Clippers.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Clippers-Suns odds for this Thursday NBA matchup.

Why The Clippers Could Cover The Spread

The Clippers seem to find way to hang around in games they have no business winning, and that's their path to a cover in this spot. Los Angeles is down Luke Kennard and Ivaca Zubac due to health and safety protocols in addition to the absences of Leonard and George. Nicolas Batum is questionable as of Thursday afternoon. The Clippers will be really shorthanded in this one, as they have lost three of their last five games as one of the more banged up teams around the league. This will be a tough matchup vs. Suns team that still has their two superstar guards.

Los Angles vs. the spread

The Clippers are 17-21 overall against the spread this season, and 6-5 as underdogs. Los Angeles is 8-7 vs. the spread as an away team on the season, and 4-6 over their last ten games overall. Los Angeles has covered in three of their last four road games.

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread

Phoenix is shorthanded here but still has Chris Paul and Devin Booker. The Suns are 7-3 in their last ten games despite Ayton and Crowder continuing to be in health and safety protocols. Paul and Booker have been enough to keep the Suns pushing forward with wins as they each have elevated their play with other starting players out of the lineup. Defensively the Suns have somehow managed despite being without their top two centers as JaVale McGee is also in health and safety protocols. This will continue to be a challenge but the Clippers are not a great offensive team right now.

Phoenix vs. the spread

The Suns are 20-17 vs. the spread this season. In their last ten games vs. the spread Phoenix is 6-4 despite being shorthanded. The Suns could be a good play in this spot vs. an even more undermanned Clippers team.

Final Clippers-Suns Prediction and Pick

Take the Suns to cover and win in this one vs. a severely short-staffed Clippers team. Phoenix has been arguably the best team in the NBA this season and they should be able to take care of business in this one vs. what is a shell of the Clippers' original roster.

Final Clippers-Suns Prediction & Pick: Suns -10.5 (-110)
