Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread
The Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season. They had a normal start to the year but managed to kick things into high gear. Through 76 games they have an impressive 53-23 record. The Grizzlies have not lost a game in two weeks and are looking to get another win on Wednesday. Their most recent victory came over the Warriors by 28. Memphis will carry that momentum into a very winnable match-up on Wednesday.
Injuries remain the only roadblock for this Grizzlies team. The loss of Ja Morant has been devastating, but the Grizzlies have managed to stay afloat without him. Jaren Jackson is also listed as day-to-day and is questionable for the match-up. In spite of their injuries, this team has persevered and managed to keep on winning games. This will likely still be the case on Wednesday.
Why The Spurs Could Cover The Spread
The San Antonio Spurs have had a disappointing season. While they have managed to win games, they have failed to be in the upper half of teams this season. Through 75 games they have a record of 31-44. They have been on a bit of a hot streak lately, winning their last four games, but haven't faced any real competition. Their most recent win came over the Houston Rockets by three. San Antonio will face a real challenge against Memphis on Wednesday. If they want to come out ahead they will seriously need to step up their game.
The Spurs are mostly healthy. They currently have three players listed on their injury report, but that is fairly normal. Most teams deal with injuries all season long, and the Spurs are no exception. For the most part, San Antonio has managed to do okay in spite of unavailable players.
