The NBA regular season continues with games on Wednesday. The Miami Heat will hit the road and take on the Boston Celtics. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Heat-Celtics prediction and pick.
These two teams have had very similar seasons so far. The Miami Heat have been one of the best teams in the league this season, but have only managed to win one of their last five games. While the Boston Celtics have also been a great team this year and have won six of their last seven matchups. This should be a great game between two of the best teams in the NBA.

Why The Heat Could Cover The Spread
The Miami Heat have had a great year. They have managed to compete and beat some of the best teams in the league. Through 76 regular-season games, they have an impressive record of 48-28. However, in spite of all of their success this season, they have been struggling recently. Their last game was their first win in over a week. The Heat managed to come out ahead by 23 against the Sacramento Kings. Miami will look to build on that win as they face a very tough opponent on Wednesday. The Celtics have stepped things up this season and are heading into this matchup with lots of momentum. This should be an interesting one.
Miami was in control from start to finish against the Kings. The Heat took the lead right away and were only outscored in the fourth quarter after the game was already decided. Miami had been struggling, so a win was a welcome sight. Jimmy Butler put in a solid performance, and with the help of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, Miami was able to take care of business. However, if they want to end up on top against the Celtics they will need to turn things up. Boston is a much better team than Sacramento and this game will be a lot tougher.
For the most part, this Heat team is healthy. That is something that can't be said for a lot of teams in the league. Most teams have been dealing with injuries, but currently, Miami only has three players listed on their injury report. All three of those players are listed as day-to-day and are questionable for Wednesday's match. If one or some of those guys end up playing that would be a welcome addition, however, if they are all unavailable it wouldn't be too devastating a blow.
Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread
While the Celtics may have struggled at the beginning of the season, they have more than compensated since the all-star break. Boston has been on a tear lately and through their first 76 games, they have managed to secure a 47-29 record. The Celtics are coming off their first loss in two weeks, and it came in overtime against the Raptors. Prior to that loss, Boston had won six consecutive games. The Celtics will look to get back on track on Wednesday against another tough opponent. However, the Celtics have not shied away from competition this season. This should be a great game.
Without Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the two best players on the Celtics, Boston was able to play an extremely competitive match against a tough Raptors team. The Celtics put on an impressive team performance. Seven out of eight players scored in the double digits, and six out of eight contributed 30+ minutes of playing time. In a game that no one would have faulted the Celtics for giving up in, Boston rallied and took the Raptors to overtime. This was an impressive outing from Boston and it is very telling to the type of team they are.
So now the big question remains, will Tatum and Brown come back for Wednesday's match? As of now, both players are listed as day-to-day and are questionable for the game. If one, or both, of those guys come back then that would be a huge addition in Boston. The Celtics with these guys are so much better than the Celtics without them. The only other injured player is Robert Williams, who recently underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The Celtics are mostly healthy and ready to charge into the playoffs strong, this is an important game and I wouldn't be surprised to see Tatum and Brown back out on the floor.

This is a tough pick. Picking a team, hoping that questionable players return to action is risky. However, in this case, it is what has to be done. The Celtics are a great team, and in a tough important match up I would expect their best players to return to action. Pick the Celtics to win and cover.
