The Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons will play in an inter-conference matchup on Monday evening. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Kings-Pistons prediction and pick.

The Kings and Pistons meet on Monday, and each team could really use a win. The Pistons are 3-9 on the season, and just 1-4 on their home floor. Sacramento is 5-8 so far in 2021-22, and will need to start winning games like matchups vs. the Pistons if they have any hopes of snapping their postseason drought. Detroit has been a bit better since getting the 2021 No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham back in the lineup, but they still have a long ways to go as a group. The Kings have lost four straight games and will be looking to snap their losing streak as favorites Monday in Michigan.

Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread

The Kings are the better, deeper team in this matchup. Sacramento is about league average so far in terms of overall efficiency, ranking 17th in the NBA in net rating. Sacramento has been good offensively, ranking 7th in offensive rating compared to 24th on the defensive side. Harrison Barnes leads the Kings in scoring as he averages over 21 points per game, with De'Aaron Fox not far behind averaging 19.8 points and 6.1 assists. These two, along with Buddy Hield, so much of the damage offensively for the Kings. Despite Detroit's poor overall record, they have won two of their last three games and are in a decent spot at home. The Kings are a risky play on Monday when considering you have to lay the points. Sacrament is 6-7 vs. the spread so far this season.

Why The Pistons Can Cover The Spread

Anytime an NBA team is getting real points on their home floor, there is at least some appeal. That's where the Pistons find themselves on Monday as home dogs to the Kings. To be fair, the Kings to come in as the higher rated team, as Detroit ranks dead last in the NBA with a -9.5 net rating. Offensively, the Pistons have been anemic as they are scoring just 99.4 points per 100 possessions, which ranks 29th in the NBA. Rookie Cade Cunningham can only be expected so much, while Jerami Grant is still the Pistons best player overall. Detroit is in a sneaky spot to pull off a cover and/or win on Monday, but it's difficult to be too confident in what has been one of if not the worst team in the NBA so far this season.

Final Kings-Pistons Prediction & Pick

The Kings need a win badly as they are riding a four-game losing streak, so go with Sacramento to take care of business with a cover and victory in Detroit on Monday.
