These two teams have had somewhat different seasons so far. The New York Knicks have been struggling this season but seem to be gaining momentum, and are coming off three straight wins. While the Memphis Grizzlies have been impressive and are coming off a solid win. This should be an interesting match up.

Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread
The New York Knicks have had an interesting season so far. Through their first 66 games, they have a losing record of 28-38. However, in spite of their struggles, the Knicks seem to be turning things around. New York is coming off three straight wins. Their most recent victory came over the Dallas Mavericks by an impressive 30 points. The Knicks will look to carry that same energy and momentum into a tough match-up on Friday. The Grizzlies are a tough opponent, but if the Knicks can keep playing well they might be able to steal this one.
The Knicks pulled off a shocking upset in their win over the Mavericks. Dallas had been a hot team, but New York stifled them. The Knicks were able to pull ahead because everyone on the team contributed. Seven players played for over 20 minutes and six of them scored in the double digits. However, where they really impressed was in their defense. The Knicks held Dallas to only 77 points. Dallas has a great offense so limiting them to less than 80 points is extremely impressive. If the Knicks can play at the same level on Friday they might add to their win column.
The biggest roadblock for this Knicks team is injuries. New York has been crippled by injuries. The Knicks currently have seven players listed on their injury report. Of the injured players, only Obi Toppin is listed as questionable for the match. This problem has been persistent throughout the season for the Knicks. While it may be an uphill battle, if the starters step up and carry the team the Knicks could pull this off.
Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread
The Memphis Grizzlies have had a very solid season so far. Through their first 67 games, they have an impressive record of 45-22. They are fresh off a 21 point win over the New Orleans Pelicans. This Knicks team is extremely vulnerable so the Grizzlies should be able to come out ahead. As long as they play up to their ability they should be able to come out with a win. Expect the Grizzlies to come out strong and possibly dominate this match.
This Memphis team is extremely unique. In their last game against the Pelicans, 14 players saw the court. Six players scored in the double digits, and everyone contributed. The Pelicans may have been crippled, but Memphis was able to take full advantage. That is not so different from Friday's game. The Grizzlies should win this game, if they come in ready and don't underestimate the Knicks then they should be good. However, Memphis could experience some problems if they just expect to win and don't prepare adequately for this match.
One of the best things about this Grizzlies team right now is that they are nearly healthy. The only injured player is Dillon Brooks who is listed as doubtful for Friday's game. With nearly their entire roster available for this match, the Grizzlies should be able to put in a dominant performance. This is Memphis' game to lose. A healthy roster, and fresh off a 21 point win, the Grizzlies look poised to win this match and continue to make a run this season.

This is an interesting match-up. If the Knicks hadn't just pulled off an impressive win over the Mavericks this would be an easy decision. The Grizzlies are a much better team and they should be able to pull off this win by a large margin. There is still a chance that the Knicks could pull off the upset and at the very least cover. Regardless, it is best to just chop up the Knicks' most recent win to a fluke and look at all their recent performances. Given this and the injuries to New York, pick the Grizzlies to win and cover.
