The Chicago Bulls host the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Bulls-Raptors prediction and pick.

The Toronto Raptors are (23-22) on the season which is good for eighth in the Eastern Conference. They are coming off a huge win over the Charlotte Hornets 125-113. Gary Trent Jr. scored 32 points to lead the Raptors past the Hornets. As for the Bulls, they recently lost the No. 1 seed in the East but are still right there in second. They have a (29-17) record which is just a half-game behind the Miami Heat. Chicago is coming off a 1-point victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. This has the makings to be a very close game!

Why The Raptors Could Cover The Spread

Toronto comes into this game as the underdogs on the road. That is the right call because they are facing a very good Bulls team tonight. For the Raptors, they have a tough task ahead of them and they need to defend someone they are very accustomed to. DeMar DeRozan is sixth in the NBA in scoring at 26.3 points per game. Toronto will need to find a way to contain him which is not an easy thing to do. Chicago recently saw the return of Zach Lavine so that just makes this game even harder for the Raptors to cover. Some good news is that they are 15-13 against the East this season.

These teams play for the second time this year. The Bulls won the first matchup 111-108 back in late October. DeRozan scored 26 in the win for Chicago and he will likely play well once again against his former franchise. Toronto can't let that happen, however, because if he is on his game then the Raptors will be in trouble. He's been on a new level this year and the Bulls are really benefiting from it.

Why The Bulls Could Cover The Spread

RECOMMENDED (Article Continues Below)

As mentioned above, if Derozan is on his game then the Bulls will be in a position to win this game at home. To cover this spread they need to win by a good margin and one that isn't threatened. Chicago is 16-6 at home this year and the Raptors are 10-10 on the road. Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. are both playing well for the Raptors. The Bulls must find a way to contain those two because we have seen them go on a scoring tear lately.

The Bulls struggled over their last 10 games which is why they fell from the top-seed in the East. They are just 3-7 in their last 10 games allowing 113 points per game. Their defense must improve if they want to be in a position to cover this spread. The Raptors are certainly not a team that is going to scare anyone, but the Bulls can't take them lightly. Fred VanVleet is averaging north of 20 points per game in his last 10 so that is someone else who could really hurt them. The Bulls' defense will be the reason they cover the spread.

Final Raptors-Bulls Prediction & Pick

I'm taking the Bulls to cover this spread at home. They are the better team and with Lavine back they should find their groove again.

Final Raptors-Bulls Prediction & Pick: Bulls -4 (-106)
