The Portland Trail Blazers will host the Houston Rockets at the Moda Center on Monday night. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Rockets-Blazers prediction and pick.

Houston has lost nine of its last 10 games and is currently riding a five-game losing streak into this matchup. Portland, on the other hand, has won three straight games after defeating the Spurs by 22 points on Saturday. Will Portland take care of business against a struggling Rockets bunch and continue to climb the Western Conference standings?

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the Rockets-Blazers odds.

NBA Odds: Rockets-Blazers Odds

Houston Rockets +15 (-110)

Portland Trail Blazers -15 (-110)

Over 237.5 Points (-110)

Under 237.5 Points (-110)

Why The Rockets Could Cover The Spread

The Rockets are one of those teams that's expected to lose every game they play at this point. Houston has been double-digit underdogs in four straight games and has gone 2-2 ATS during that stretch. They're coming off two straight covers against the Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz, which is at least somewhat promising. The Rockets have been getting surprisingly great performances from some of their young players with raw talent and exciting potential.

Kenyon Martin Jr. has been a bright spot for this Rockets group of late. Martin had a solid outing against the Jazz with 27 points and 10 rebounds in an eight-point loss. He went 11-of-19 from the field and his club shot 43.9% overall. Khyri Thomas shot 10-of-21 and added 27 points of his own. With a significant amount of contributors out for this game, these two will have to match the great performances from the previous game. Houston ranks toward the bottom of the league in both points scored and points against this season.

Why The Blazers Could Cover The Spread

The Blazers are in the middle of an all-out brawl in the Western Conference as several teams are fighting to stay out of the play-in tournament. Portland currently holds a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Lakers for the sixth seed, which is the last spot before that dreaded tournament. With the Lakers' win against the Suns on Sunday, the Blazers would very much like to take care of business against a depleted and lackluster Rockets team. Portland does hold the tiebreaker over LA, but these are games you can't afford to slip up in down the stretch.

The Blazers are riding a three-game winning streak after defeating the Spurs by 22 points over the weekend. Damian Lillard led the way with 30 points and eight assists. CJ McCollum added 27 points in an impressive performance from the Blazers' lethal backcourt duo. Portland hasn't taken its foot off the gas on the offensive end of the floor, ranking fifth in the league in points per game at 115.7. If this team can improve slightly on the defensive end, watch out for them come playoff time.

Final Rockets-Blazers Prediction & Pick

I'm going to give respect where it is due. The Rockets are actually staying in games with some of the top teams in the league. That all ends against the Blazers, though. Dame and crew will not let up with so much on the line as they welcome a bunch of G Leaguers to the Moda Center. Portland will come out firing and Houston just doesn't have enough talent to keep up with the Blazers for 48 minutes. The Blazers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven head-to-head meetings with the Rockets in Portland.

FINAL PICK: Portland Trail Blazers -15 (-110)
