The Washington Wizards will host the Houston Rockets in an interconference matchup! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Rockets-Wizards prediction and pick based on Rockets Wizards NBA odds.

The Rockets probably have the least experienced team in the entire NBA right now. Their roster is filled with a lot of guards and some who are getting a chance that wouldn't have been granted without covid-19 getting in the way. Houston is coming off a miserable loss to the Philadelphia 76ers last time out. The Rockets have also lost five straight on the road and it will likely be six if they don't turn things around quickly.

The Washington Wizards are one of the NBA surprises this season. They are 10-6 at home this year which is a good sign for playoff teams. Washington is also 7-1 in games decided by three points or less, meaning they know how to finish games. We were not saying that last year, although the Wizards did surge late and earned a playoff spot. The Wizards will be without some crucial players again Wednesday night so we will see how they prevail. Early on Wednesday, the Wizards signed FA center Greg Monroe to a 10-day contract to give them more veteran depth.

Let's see how FanDuel set the Rockets-Wizards line for Wednesday night in the Association.

Why The Rockets Could Cover The Spread

It's not impossible, but it's going to be a tough one for the Rockets to cover. Houston is just 3-18 on the road this season and are unlikely to turn that around. Eric Gordon continues to be one of the elite three-point shooters in the NBA shooting 44.7% from deep and averaging 14.1 points per game. Christian Wood is averaging 17.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds over his last 10 games. Those two are going to need to be the spark for the Rockets. Rookie Jalen Green is playing well this season and is averaging over 20 points per game in his last 10 games. He had an off game against the 76ers but will also be relied on to help cover this spread.

Why The Wizards Could Cover The Spread

This Wizards can cover this spread if they keep up their hot streak. The Wizards are fresh off of a win against the Charlotte Hornets where Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal scored at least 35 points. Kuzma shot 6-11 from deep and its going to take another performance like that to cover this spread. Of course, the Rockets aren't the Hornets, but you can't take any team lightly. The Wizards will need to stay hot from three and force the young players on Houston to turn the ball over. If those things happen then I have no doubt that the Wizards will cover this spread.

Final Rockets-Wizards Prediction & Pick

With how well the Wizards are playing right now, I'm going to take them to cover this spread. Washington is 18-18-1 against the spread this year and the Rockets are 16-21-1 against the spread. Those aren't numbers to be excited about but nothing to concern you either. If Beal and Kuzma are hot, then Wizards all the way in this one.

Final Rockets-Wizards Prediction & Pick: Wizards -7.5 (-110)
