During Tuesday's contest between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Portland Trail Blazers, there were some words between Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard.

Westbrook had just dunked on the entire team it seems, and coming back on the free throws the former MVP and Lillard seemed to exchange words.

Both were very heated and within the moment of the game. Sometimes the competitive nature of these professional athletes gets to them.

This season Damian Lillard has been very good for the Blazers. Per Kevin Arnovitz, Lillard has four of the league's top 20 pick and roll combinations. He's deadly in the half-court and has steadied the boat this past season for the team. Even though they aren't a strong defensive unit, Lillard's presence on offense is key to the Blazers' overall success.

So far this season, Damian Lillard has averaged 26.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc.

On the other hand, Russell Westbrook has had one of the most intriguing yet controversial seasons in the NBA. His shooting percentages, especially from beyond the arc, have dipped into oblivion. However, his defensive awareness and fundamentals have improved a surmountable amount. The Thunder now have one of the best defenses in the entire league, thanks to their core of Westbrook, Paul George, and Steven Adams.

On the season, Russell Westbrook has averaged 21.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 24.2 percent from beyond the arc. For the Thunder to make a deep playoff run, he needs to drastically improve his three-point efficiency.
