Currently at 25-28, the Atlanta Hawks sit all the way at the 10th spot out East. They aren't a very good team right now and the possibility of this squad missing out on the playoffs altogether is slowly becoming a real possibility.
It doesn't sound like the Hawks have accepted their fate, though. According to Chris Kirschner of The Athletic, the Hawks front office has remained very active in the trade market ahead of the deadline as they look to bolster their squad for a late-season push:
The Hawks have zero interest in being a lottery team, especially after making it to the Eastern Conference finals last season, so they’re going to continue to be aggressive on the trade market. That’s why they’re one of the consistent teams that come up in trade conversations. They’re heavily linked to Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons, have been linked to Detroit’s Jerami Grant and have interest in Boston’s Marcus Smart and Portland’s CJ McCollum, sources say.

The Hawks have already made their move in the market, sending Cam Reddish to the New York Knicks in exchange for a future draft pick. It is clear at this point that they are anything but done.
Right now, Atlanta is being linked to pretty much every single big-name player that has been rumored to be available via trade. Bringing in guards such as Marcus Smart from the Boston Celtics or CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers will bring an entirely new dynamic to the team, with each player possessing their respective strengths. Jerami Grant, on the other hand, could be a game-changer as well, with the Detroit Pistons forward widely considered as one of the best two-way wings in the NBA today.
Nevertheless, Philadelphia 76ers want-away star Ben Simmons still remains to be the biggest draw here. Several teams in the league have already shown interest in the former Rookie of the Year but they've all balked at Philly's asking price. It will be interesting to see what the Hawks will be willing to part ways with in order to land Simmons, but you can be sure that Atalanta will need to give up a lot in order for this to come to fruition.
