Atlanta Hawks veteran wing Vince Carter is playing in likely is final game at Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks' home arena and a marquee venue in the NBA and across the sports and entertainment world.
The Knicks' home crowd at MSG delivered a standing ovation to the 42-year-old, who is playing in his last season before retiring after 22 seasons in the NBA.

Carter started his career with the youngest franchise at the time, the Toronto Raptors, where he blossomed from college star at North Carolina to highlight reel and professional star with the Canadian team. The eight-time All-Star also played multiple seasons with the New Jersey Nets before his late-career saw him competing for the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies, among other teams.
Tuesday will likely be the last time Carter gets to play in front of the Garden crowd in New York, barring a very unforeseen playoff matchup between the Hawks and Knicks—both teams are well under .500.
