The time has almost come. Kevin Durant is closing in on his return from an MCL injury and we're about to witness a new era of Brooklyn Nets basketball unfold right before our eyes.
Durant, who has been on the shelf for two weeks now due to an MCL sprain on his left knee, will need to go through one more major hurdle before he is finally cleared to return. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, KD now needs to endure one final high-intensity workout before getting the green light to return to action:
Kevin Durant went through a second high intensity workout today. If he comes through this and then a third OK, he could be cleared to play. #Nets #NBA

There appear to be no reports of KD suffering any setback stemming from Saturday's workout, which is clearly a good sign. He will now go through another high-intensity workout in the coming days and if that goes well then Durant should be able to return to action shortly after.
This timetable falls in line with Nets coach Steve Nash's recent assessment of his cornerstone superstar. On Thursday, Nash said that KD could come back within Brooklyn's next three games. Durant has already been ruled out of Saturday's marquee matchup against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the defending champs Milwaukee Bucks. His next opportunity to return (the third game in Nash's timetable) would be on Monday against the Toronto Raptors.
