Skip Bayless has now chimed in on all the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving and his future with the Brooklyn Nets. Reports recently emerged about how the Nets are supposedly unwilling to table an extension for Kyrie and that they could be open to a sign-and-trade this summer.

In a recent episode of Undisputed, Bayless got brutally honest about Irving's status with the Nets. According to the renowned broadcaster, he is in the belief that Irving could actually turn his back on Brooklyn in the very near future:

“All I know for sure is that, according to multiple reports, they're not happy with Kyrie Irving,” Bayless said (h/t Charles Eluemuno of sportskeeda). “The strongest report said that they are outright unwilling to give Kyrie a long-term extension. Well, surely that has gotten back to Kyrie. Surely, he is well aware of that. He's a very proud young man.

“So, it's possible that in the next month he'll just say, ‘Heck with you I'm out,' because he can opt outright, become an unrestricted free agent within the next month. Would he do that? Well, knowing Kyrie it's possible he would do that just because he's offended by the way he was treated last year.”

Bayless went on to point out how Kevin Durant green-lighted the Nets' decision to exile Kyrie earlier in the season:

“Because I remind you, there was a flashpoint when they finally sent Kyrie home, and his best buddy, Kevin Durant, signed off on it, he blessed it,” Bayless continued. “He said, ‘Yep, let's go forward without it.' Not until later in the season. Did they crawl back to Kyrie as they were teetering and starting to lose?”

Kyrie Irving does not seem like the type who forgets easily. He's probably taken a mental note about all this and now that there are whispers about the Nets' unwillingness to offer him an extension, it wouldn't be surprising if this all blows up in Brooklyn's face.

Then again, as Bayless implied in his statement above, this might actually be what the Nets want in the first place. It's very much possible that the organization has grown weary of Irving's drama and that at this point, they'd just rather be done with all this.
