To the surprise of many, the Brooklyn Nets were swept in four games by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs on Monday, ending their season much sooner than planned. This squad had championship aspirations, but the C's absolutely dominated them on both ends of the floor and squashed those dreams in a hot New York second.

Of course, the Nets shook things up in February, trading James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Seth Curry, Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond, and draft picks. Following Monday's loss, Nets star Kevin Durant did admit he wished things did work out with their Big 3 instead of having to break up. But, in the end, he accepted what happened.

Via Yahoo Sports:

“James? Him leaving? I wish things would’ve been different,” Durant confessed to Yahoo Sports. “Being mad? I wish it was different. I can’t say I was that emotional.

“They’re grown-assed men. I can’t control how they feel. They might change their minds. Everybody gets that grace. Life is too amazing for me to be that upset. I get that people want me to feel a way.”

Although Harden is struggling with the Sixers, they definitely won the blockbuster trade. Simmons didn't play a single minute for the Nets, ducking out on his possible debut in Game 4 after reports initially confirmed he would suit up. Needless to say, Brooklyn could've used him.

Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving didn't even play 20 games together in a year due to various injuries. Everyone believed the Nets would win it all with this superstar trio, but it just wasn't meant to be.
