Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets are in a deep hole right now after falling to 0-2 in their first-round series against the Boston Celtics. This series is not over by any means, but there's no denying that KD will need to be at his very best if he hopes to help his team come back from this major deficit.

Durant hasn't been playing his best basketball in the NBA Playoffs and this has been one of the biggest factors behind the Nets losing their first two games in the series. Former NFL star turned analyst Shannon Sharpe is now calling KD out as he challenges the Nets superstar to get out of the shadow of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors:

“It’s been three years since he left Golden State, and he’s won one playoff series,” Sharpe said (h/t Justn Thomas Hamill of sportskeeda). “He has to show he can win outside of Golden State. As bad as they needed Kevin Durant, he needed them equally as bad.”

As great as he has been for the Nets, it's hard to imagine that KD has actually won just one series with Brooklyn. In his mind, Sharpe believes that losing to the Celtics this time around will tarnish his legacy:

“Not yet, but if they lose this series, it will,” Sharpe said. “If they win the series, nobody will remember Game 1 and Game 2. KD needs to show that he can win outside of Golden State.”
