Even the NFL is starting to worry about the Golden State Warriors.

Wait. What?

In light if the news of DeMarcus Cousins agreeing to take his talents to the Bay Area and join forces with four players, who, like him, were NBA All-Stars last season, the Arizona Cardinals snuffed out any possible plans of the Warriors to poach one of the Cards’ wide receivers, future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald in particular.

As crazy as how the Warriors’ pending addition of Cousins sounds like, the absurdity of the NBA free agency stops right there, so Arizona can feel entirely secure that football’s version of Larry Legend will remain a Cardinal for at least one more season.

Fitzgerald signed a one-year extension back in November with the Cardinals, which is worth $11 million. Not too shabby for a wideout that’s about to turn 35 this coming August.

After some doubt as to whether he could possibly call it a career, Fitzgerald has decided to play on for at least one more season. The Cardinals great is the NFL’s third all-time receptions leader in history with 1,234. He needs just 92 more to surpass Tony Gonzalez for the No. 2 spot in the list. Given the fact that he's had over 100 catches for three straight seasons, he should like his chances of overtaking Gonzalez.

Last season, Fitzgerald caught 109 passes and converted them to 1,156 receiving yards and six touchdown receptions in 16 games. He has not missed a game since 2015. In fact, he’s only missed two games in his career, appearing in 216 of 218 possible games in the regular season. He's still missing that ring to put the finishing touches on his terrific career, but it doesn't seem as if he'll be chasing one with Golden State.
