Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens may be angling for a job on the “Seinfield” reunion series.
During a postgame press conference on Wednesday, Stevens spoke about Jaylen Brown and his having to wear goggles versus contacts after suffering an infection to one of his eyes.
During his answer, Stevens stumbled into a pun that could be worthy of dad joke status, per NBCS Sports Boston.
“We had some laughs in retrospect about that — retro-specs about that,” Stevens said. “That's pretty good.”

Apparently, Jaylen Brown went to see Brad Stevens' optometrist to figure out what to do with his eye issue. A question about Brown's visit prompted the pun by Stevens.

The pun was pretty good, when you think about it. It didn't take him very long at all to make the connection between retrospect and the word spectacles.
However, it would've been epic had the Celtics coach thought of it a split second sooner and just said “retro-specs” first. The room may have burst in uproarious laughter had that been the case.
Either way, Brad Stevens proved once again that he is an everyman in a job that is very high profile. He seems very earnest and relatable, which makes the dad joke all the more adorable.
Suffice to say, Stevens rarely makes a spectacle out of things.
