Brad Stevens took fellow coach Steve Kerr's comments in stride, as the latter lauded the Boston Celtics as the “team of the future” in light of their performances throughout the young season.

The Celtics have won 13 straight games after dropping their first two, boasting by far the longest active win streak in the league. Stevens took the compliment humbly.

“The future is hard to predict,” he said, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg. “And we’ve gotta stay in the moment to become the best version of ourselves, is the answer that I have.”

“I really appreciate him saying that. There’s nobody that I could respect more. He’s an incredible person and coach. But, yeah, we have to stay in the moment.”

Boston has a meeting with the owners of the second-longest active win streak in Kerr's Golden State Warriors, bound for a clash with the defending champions as part of a doubleheader affair on TNT.

The matchup will be a bar-measuring outing for both teams, as they look to test their strengths and weaknesses through the early get-go of this 2017-18 season.

The Celtics have been excellent closing out games, while the Warriors have blown out teams by a margin of 19.9 points throughout their seven-game win streak — a scary proposition that leaves very little margin for error.
