Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum says he'd trade himself for New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis too.
The Celtics have been linked to Anthony Davis for a few years now. If Davis declines the supermax extension in the summer from New Orleans, the Pelicans could trade AD out of fear of losing him for nothing in free agency.
To acquire Davis, the Celtics would probably have to part ways with Jayson Tatum, who admitted to Celtics radio color commentator Cedric Maxwell that he would include himself in the trade as well because of how special of a player Davis is.

Via Darren Hartwell of NBC Sports Boston:
So, is landing Davis worth giving up Tatum? Celtics radio color commentator Cedric Maxwell believes so, and that led to a surprising admission from the player himself.
As Maxwell explained to host Adam Kaufman on CLNS' âCeltics Beatâ podcast, Jayson Tatum's father, Justin Tatum, took exception to Maxwell's insistence that Boston should trade his son in a heartbeat if it meant acquiring Davis.
Maxwell continued (his story comes around the 40-minute mark of the podcast):
âJayson Tatum's dad came to me ⌠and said, âI've got a bone to pick with you. ⌠You said you'd trade my son for Anthony Davis.' And I said, âAnd?' And he said, âWell, I probably would trade him too if he wasn't my son.â
Maxwell then took that story to Jayson, who came right out with it.
âYeah, I'd trade me too for Anthony Davis,â Tatum told Maxwell.
Jayson Tatum is putting that Duke education to use. He's a smart kid. He knows Anthony Davis is a once in a generation type of player, and although he would love to finish his career with the Celtics, the opportunity to land a player such as Davis requires making tough decisions.
