That timeline means White could miss the start of training camp and possibly the start of the season, depending on how things progress.
The Bulls were already likely to add at the guard spot. As K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reported, that is even more likely given White's absence:
“Plenty of talk around the league already existed about the Bulls focusing on adding a guard this offseason,” Johnson tweeted. “Coby White shoulder injury news—and the team release said he would be re-evaluated in 4 months, not that he for sure will be ready then—only will intensify that talk.”

Chicago will be hoping to bolster its backcourt and perhaps give All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine more of a pass-first point guard who can shoot the ball efficiently from deep and excels in pick-and-roll.
It's unknown whether the Bulls will use that space to sign free agents or perhaps look to pull off a trade. Though someone like Damian Lillard would be quite enticing, it's unlikely Chicago can trade for him because it would require a lot of cap gymnastics and might not be feasible given their current situation with draft picks, which could be all the more complicated if the 2021 choice translates to the Orlando Magic via the Nikola Vucevic trade.
White's future was also a bit unclear given the former No. 7 pick has struggled to live up to his potential. However, the Bulls aren't likely to move him now and especially not when he's on the shelf.
