Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen says Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is one of his favorite players of all-time.

Boylen was an assistant coach under Fred Hoiberg for two years while Butler was still on the Bulls.

Butler is a fierce competitor who plays with a lot of spirit, something Boylen loves. The Bulls traded Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2017.

Chicago is 5-10 on the season. They host Butler and the Heat on Friday. Butler is 0-2 as a visitor at the United Center, so you know he's going to be eager to get the win. The Heat are 10-3 on the season, good for third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Entering Friday, Butler is averaging 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 42.0 percent from the field, 27.6 percent from beyond the arc and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line. Bulls fans will likely give Jimmy a nice ovation during the starting lineups.

Boylen is looking for Butler-type players in Chicago, guys who are super competitive and take it personal when the team loses. As of right now, there doesn't appear to be a clear alpha on the Bulls. Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen have the talent, but they have been a disappointment thus far this season.
