Mo Bamba is one of the most intriguing draft prospects and when his name is called on June 21, whichever team snags him has the chance for the next potential superstar.
The kid is going to be a defensive force when he enters the league with his 7-foot-10 wingspan and 9-foot-9 standing reach.
He was an elite shot blocker in his one year with the Texas Longhorns and that should easily translate next year to the NBA.
The Chicago Bulls have the seventh pick in the draft and although he hopes to be drafted before then, Bamba thinks he would make a really good fit with Fred Hoiberg's team.
“Chicago is a great city. It is a very young team and I could see myself playing here,” Bamba told reporters after his morning workout with the Bulls via NBA. “Obviously the goal was to be the No. 1 pick, but Chicago had all the assets and everything. When you look at all the categories that they struggled in, those were all things that I could step in and help impact immediately. Like they were last or second to in blocked shots and I like to think of myself as a pretty good shot blocker. I could step in immediately and have an impact for this team and this organization.”
If the Bulls decide they want to get Mamba, they are probably going to have to trade up to get him and there might be a chance the Memphis Grizzlies who sit with the fourth pick might want to trade down.
As the draft gets closer, this might be a story to watch a little more intently.
