One thing the hype surrounding ESPN/Netflix's mega-hit docuseries “The Last Dance” has boosted tremendously is the value of all Michael Jordan merchandise. Case in point is a used ticket from Jordan's NBA debut with the Chicago Bulls, which just sold at a whopping $25,000.

Here is the official statement from Huggins & Scotts Auctions:

A ticket stub from Michael Jordan’s 1984 NBA debut against the Washington Bullets sold tonight for $24,907.50 with the buyer's premium at Huggins & Scott Auctions.

That's 25 G's for what is literally just a piece of paper. Just imagine how much collectors will be willing to pay for something like a pair of kicks MJ wore during a memorable contest or perhaps a game-worn jersey. Oh, actually we did a story on that. As a matter of fact, a jersey Jordan wore during a game is projected to fetch $250,000 in another auction. I guess that answers that question.

For what it's worth, Jordan did not exactly have a typical MJ performance in his debut. On October 26, 1984, in Chicago's season opener against the Washington Bullets, Jordan ended up with 16 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. It wasn't exactly a jaw-dropping performance, but the fact that this was the first time one of, if not the greatest players ever took the floor for an NBA game makes this occasion so momentous.

The Jordan hype does not look like it's going to die down anytime soon, so perhaps now would be a good time to sell off any MJ memorabilia  you may have lying around. After all, scoring a few thousand dollars at this time sure sounds like a good deal.
