Zach LaVine knows the Chicago Bulls are still in the playoff hunt despite being only 13-21 on the season.
Entering Wednesday, the Bulls are only 1.5 games back of the Orlando Magic for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. LaVine, the Bulls' top scorer, says Chicago can still make up for its slow start and get in the postseason picture:
“We understand the position we’re in,” LaVine told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. “We’re 1.5 games out of 8th place. I think we’ve thrown some games away. I think we should be right in that hunt. As poorly as we’ve played some nights, we can still make up for it.”
The Bulls begin 2020 on Thursday when they host the Utah Jazz. That's going to be a difficult game for the Bulls to win since the Jazz are a good team.

However, Chicago did defeat the Los Angeles Clippers a couple of weeks ago at home, so you never know what can happen.
Zach LaVine is averaging 23.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this season for the Bulls. He's shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from beyond the arc and 83.2 percent from the free-throw line.
The Bulls haven't made the playoffs since the 2016-17 season. There's still a lot of games left for Chicago to string some wins together and get in the playoff picture in the East since the back half of the conference is pretty bad.
For the Bulls to reach the playoffs, LaVine and Lauri Markkanen have to play at a high-level every night moving forward.
