The Chicago Bulls' internal belief in shooting guard Zach LaVine reportedly remains high, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

The Bulls got calls on LaVine at the trade deadline, but they never had any interest in moving the high-flyer.

Though they’ve been hesitant to consider rebooting the rebuild, the Bulls also could consider trading cornerstone pieces like Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen. The internal belief in LaVine remains high.

In 52 games this season for the Bulls, LaVine is averaging a team-high 24.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He’s shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from beyond the arc and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line.

LaVine is sick of losing, and the fact that he has never been to the playoffs in his career adds more to the frustration. The Bulls are only 19-33 on the season and in ninth place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings. However, they are just 3.5 games back of the Orlando Magic for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

The 24-year-old is making $19,500,000 this season. He signed a four-year, $78 million offer sheet with the Sacramento Kings in 2018, which the Bulls quickly matched. They clearly view him as a franchise cornerstone, even as the first three years of their post-Jimmy Butler rebuild haven’t gone as planned.
