Dwyane Wade made perhaps the two biggest plays of the Chicago Bulls‘ 105-99 season-opening win against the Boston Celtics.

After spending his first 13 seasons in Miami, the perennial All-Star proved he can do the things fans and media doubted he could.

Wade went 4-of-6 from deep, none bigger than this dagger three after freezing one of the league's best perimeter defenders in Avery Bradley with this step-back three.

The bucket gave Chicago a five-point lead. Then Wade made yet another big play on the defensive end, blocking Gerald Green‘s three-pointer off his leg and out of bounds to get the ball back.

While only shooting 7-of-18 from the floor, Wade received every bit of warmth and cheers from his hometown — and he repaid them by making the two biggest plays in the game.

An overjoyed Wade headed to the locker room after the game, saying: “That's the way we do it. That's a homecoming right there.”
