A disaster for Valtteri. 💔 The wheel nut machined onto the axle as we attempted the pit stop, meaning the wheel cannot be changed.

Apparently Chicago Bulls All-Star Nikola Vucevic is a big Formula 1 guy, because he immediately took to Twitter to lament Bottas' crappy luck.
Bottas has the worst luck in F1

Bottas is currently behind Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in the Formula 1 standings. Bottas and Hamilton are teammates with Mercedes.
Article Continues BelowEarlier in 2021, Bottas also had some tough luck at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. In addition to a tyre problem, he had to retire from the race after a crash with George Russell.
Bottas has had a number of unfortunate issues in recent years keeping him from the top of the standings, with Hamilton often the beneficiary of them. Hamilton has finished first in the standings four years in a row and six of the last seven. Bottas finished second in 2019 and 2020, as well as third in 2017 and fifth in 2018.
Bottas' latest issue at the Monaco Grand Prix is obviously a setback in this Formula 1 season. We'll see how he bounces back. It's clear Vucevic feels for him after the series of unfortunate events.
Vucevic certainly knows a thing or two about bad luck. After his trade to the Bulls earlier this season, they thought they were going to make a run to the playoffs. Instead, Chicago struggled in the immediate aftermath of the trade. Then, Zach LaVine missed 11 games due to a positive COVID-19 test, effectively nuking the Bulls' chances.
