Different coaches have different philosophies, so it comes to no surprise that Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg wants his new superstar shooting guard to shoot more three-pointers.

Dwyane Wade, who has shot the three at a 28.4% career mark, is somewhat surprised at the revelation.

“That's a little new for me,” Wade told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. “A lot of people have talked about me not shooting threes, but no one has been able to take away what I wanted to do. So why would I do something else? When you take it away, I have the ability to knock it down. I'm not Doug McDermott. I'm not Niko (Mirotic). But I'm comfortable with the shot and I'm going to shoot it. I know it's going to be there, so I have a better chance of knocking it down.”

Wade isn't lying and his percentages aren't either. The 6-foot-4 slasher out of Marquette knocked down 52.2% of his three-pointers during last season's playoffs and shoots a more respectable 34.2% for his playoff career.

While it's still unknown if Wade will acquiesce to Hoiberg's desires, the All-Star shooting guard knows his game better than anyone and his 48.8% field goal percentage proves it.

His bread is buttered in the paint and in the mid-range game. Wade only needs to shoot the three enough to be respected as a threat, just enough to open up his other options.

Sadly for Hoiberg, who's been a lover of shooters his entire coaching career, neither Wade nor Jimmy Butler nor Rajon Rondo are prominent from deep, making Mirotic their one and only threat from beyond-the-arc in a one-dimensional starting lineup.
