Without a doubt, Michael Jordan and LeBron James are two of the biggest names to make their mark in the playoffs. With a number of rings and accolades between them, it seems that their postseason records are far from reach from anyone in the league today. Turns out, the Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic has one insane stat that surpasses the two legends as he leads his team to a deciding Game 7 against the Phoenix Suns.

According to a tweet by Marc Spears, Doncic is way ahead of the competition in the area of most points scored per game when facing elimination matches in the playoffs. At this point in time, the Mavericks' All-Star guard is averaging 39 points in this kind of match with a minimum of three games.

To put things into context, the closest player to Doncic right now is Alex Groza of the Indiana Olympians with 33.5 points way back during the 1950s. Behind him are LeBron James with 33.5 points and Michael Jordan with 31.3. Rounding off the list are Wilt Chamberlain (31.1) and Kevin Durant with 30.2 points.

What these numbers mean is that during crucial matchups in NBA playoff history, Luka Doncic is scoring the most points. This achievement has him blazing ahead of Jordan and James, considered by many to be the two greatest basketball players ever.

This stat comes in at the best time as the Mavs win Game 6 against the Phoenix Suns and force a deciding Game 7 a few days from now. That, and Doncic is definitely playing his mind out during this year's playoffs. In the nine games he has played against both the Utah Jazz and Phoenix, the All-Star guard is averaging 31.1 points on 46% shooting from the field, 32% from deep, and 75% from the free throw line. He's also making 10.1 rebounds 6.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game during the postseason.

This absurd stat is just one of the many signs that prove Doncic is playing at a high level. It won't be long now before the Mavs' All-Star guard elevates himself further, especially if he can get the job done against Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and the Suns.
