Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have been knocked out of the NBA playoffs. The Golden State Warriors knocked them out of the Western Conference Finals in just five games. Still, the Mavs have a lot to be proud of.

Dallas overcame an early injury to Doncic and defeated the team with the best record in the league to make it to the conference finals. They won their first two playoff series since 2011 and established a very bright future for themselves. Doncic, in particular, showed that he is nothing short of special.

ESPN analyst Tim Legler offered some very high praise for Doncic after the Mavs' season ended. The former NBA guard said that Doncic can be one of the greatest offensive players in basketball history.

Doncic has a very strong body of work to make Legler's case. He averaged 26.4 points and 8.0 assists per game and ups the ante in the postseason. The Mavs' wunderkind is already the most prolific scorer in elimination playoff games and always brings his best game when he's down in the postseason. He led the Mavs to victory in the second round over the Pheonix Suns after facing a 2-3 deficit.

Luka Doncic was one of the very best players in this year's NBA playoffs. He had a solid case to be the best of the best, putting up performances that rivaled those of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and Jimmy Butler. The Mavs have the fortune to build around one of the greatest playoff performers in league history for the foreseeable future.
