The Dallas Mavericks are rumored to heavily pursue Nikola Vucevic come free agency, according to Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News.

Vucevic becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season ends. The Mavs acquired power forward Kristaps Porzingis from the New York Knicks on Thursday and want to have a Big Three of Luka Doncic, Nikola Vucevic, and Porzingis for next season.

On the same night in which Doncic learned he did not make the NBA All-Star team, the Mavericks acquired a reigning All-Star in Porzingis and, according to a league source, now will set their sights on a summer addition of a 28-year-old center who on Thursday became an All-Star himself.

He is 7-foot Orlando center Nikola Vucevic. He will become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. And one of his agents is Bill Duffy, who also represents Doncic.

Nikola Vucevic is going to command a lot of money in free agency, money the Mavs will have. Vucevic was named an All-Star for the first time this season. The big man is averaging 20.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game for the Magic.

If Orlando misses the playoffs this season, which is very possible, the brain trust of the Magic might be content with letting Nikola Vucevic walk in free agency so they can build around Aaron Gordon, Mohamed Bamba, and Jonathan Isaac.
