The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly expected to pursue Kevin Durant in free agency this summer and Kristaps Porzingis would be on board with teaming up with KD in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic, according to Frank Isola of The Athletic.

ESPN's Zach Lowe reported a few weeks ago that Porzingis wasn't thrilled with the idea of playing with Durant with the New York Knicks. Durant can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Golden State Warriors and the two-time Finals MVP has been linked to signing with the Knicks in free agency should he decide to leave the Dubs.

However, it looks like that report was some smoke coming from the Knicks and not Porzingis' camp.

And to top it off, Porzingis reportedly wanted no part of playing with free agent-to-be Kevin Durant.

The private response from Porzingis’ camp is that the Knicks’ spin is utter nonsense, especially the story about Durant, the superstar who nicknamed Porzingis the Unicorn. In fact, the Mavericks are expected to pursue Durant this summer in free agency and yes, Porzingis would welcome Durant with open arms. Wouldn’t that be something, if Durant joined Porzingis and Luka Doncic instead of Kevin Knox and Allonzo Trier?

A Big Three of Durant, Porzingis and Doncic in Dallas would be lethal and fun to watch. The Mavs have been trying to sign big time free agents for the past couple of seasons, but they have struck out each time.

This is the first rumor we have heard about the Mavs planning to pursue Durant. It's going to be an interesting and wild summer in the NBA.
