In one of the bigger trades of this season, the Mavs acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the New York Knicks on Thursday afternoon. Now, just a few days later, the Latvian-born big man was spotted on the practice court with his new team.

Dallas' social media team shared video footage of the scene inside the Lympo App facility on Monday morning. Though he's still recovering from an ACL injury, Porzingis managed to get up some free-throws.

Mavs owner Mark Cuban has already stated that Porzingis will likely be held out for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, but it's nice to see him on the floor with his new squad.

James Herbert laid out the details of Dallas' trade with New York in his recent article for CBS Sports:

New York will bring back Dennis Smith Jr. and clear a bunch of salary in the deal, receiving the expiring contracts of DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews and sending Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee to the Mavericks. The Knicks will also get two future first-round picks from the Mavericks.

Porzingis, now 23 years of age, should be a fine addition to the Mavs' rotation. Alongside rookie sensation Luka Doncic, Dallas now has two legitimate stars. Clearly, the team is focused on the future.

“Porzingis is incredibly fond of Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic — and the Mavericks have confidence they will be able to keep Porzingis, league sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic. Knicks/Mavericks talks started picking up steam Wednesday night.”

The Mavs will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Charlotte Hornets. Tip-off inside American Airline Arena is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
