It was a battle of the century as Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo went toe-to-toe as they entered the history books with an amazing performance. It was the best way to end the first half of the NBA season as the Bucks and Nuggets were going back and forth with the final score ending in favor of the Nuggets in a 134-123 win.
The fans at the BMO Harris Bradley Center got their money worth as they saw both Jokic and Antetokounmpo receive a triple double as the final whistle went off. According to ESPN Sports Stats and Info:
Yesterday's Nuggets – Bucks game was only the 3rd in NBA history (and first in over 50 years) to feature two players with at least 30 points in a triple-double.”

Let's start with the amazing performance of Antetokounmpo. With playing 39 minutes of the loss, the star would finish the day with 11 rebounds, 13 assists and 36 points. Antetokounmpo was clearly on top of his game, but Nuggets Jokic was one step ahead of him.

Jokic would finish his career day with 34 minutes played, 15 rebounds, 17 assists and 30 points. Jokic was passing the ball well throughout the whole game as he almost had double digits in every single category in his own triple-double.

With the historic performance now complete, both Antetokounmpo and Jokic would write themselves in the history book as the third ever group to complete this historic moment. According to EliasSports: “The others were Johnny Kerr & Dave DeBusschere (1965) and Oscar Robertson & Richie Guerin (1961).”
Congratulations to both players as they reached a milestone that only few people are in. Let's hope the fourth group will be able to do it within the next year instead of waiting another 50 years.
