Dwyane Wade was one of the biggest names in free agency during the offseason. After contract negotiations between him and the Miami Heat failed to lead them to an agreement, he gave other franchises a chance and listened to their pitches before he trimmed down his choice to two possible destinations.

One of them was his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls, which he ultimately chose, but the other one flew under the radar and became a surprise contender for his services in the eyes of many, the Denver Nuggets.

Not a lot of people gave the Nuggets a chance to land Wade, but according to the 34-year-old Marquette product, the franchise gave a good account of themselves and sold the team very well to him. Even if he did not choose them in the end, he believes they'll be able to sign a big name free agent in the future based on the pitch they gave to him.

The Nuggets are one of the younger teams in the league and they have a bright future ahead of them, with the likes of Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Nikola Jokic, and Kenneth Faried bannering their roster. They also have a very good management team as well as an experienced coach in Mike Malone which adds to the appeal of the franchise.

If the Nuggets eventually lure a star in free agency, he will instantly boost their chances to compete for a playoff spot, or even go deep in the postseason, in the tough Western Conference. If they were successful in making a lasting impression to one of the best players in the league, it doesn't give them any reason not to replicate that feat and come out with a significant signing next time.
