It's no secret the Denver Nuggets are extremely depleted this season, with both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. sidelined due to major injuries. Nevertheless, Nikola Jokic has kept the team afloat with his MVP play as the Nuggets sit 28-21 currently.
But on Monday, Denver was handed a $2.7 million disabled player exception in the wake of Porter's injury.
The Denver Nuggets have been granted a disabled player exception worth $2.7 million for the loss of Michael Porter Jr., sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. DPE is granted for players deemed to be out for the season. Deadline to use the DPE is March 10.

But according to Yahoo Sports' Keith Smith, this isn't exactly good news for the Nuggets sharpshooter because it looks like he will probably miss the rest of the campaign:
A DPE of $2.7M isn't all that much to get excited about. Maybe Denver uses it to sign a rest of season buyout guy.
What is interesting is that it means that after a review it was determined that Michael Porter Jr is more likely than not to miss the remainder of the season.

After all, $2.7 million isn't a lot of money. There isn't a lot of players they will be able to get that can actually make a legitimate impact unless it's on the buyout market. As they stand, the Nuggets are doing just fine. The Joker is showing out on a nightly basis, while there is also still the possibility Murray returns from ACL surgery at some point in the season. It's not out of the question.
If Sunday's performance was any indication, Denver is in good hands. They destroyed the defending champion, Milwaukee Bucks, by 36 points and have now notched five victories in a row.
MPJ was shut down early in the campaign with a serious back injury and had to undergo surgery. If he could somehow play again in 2022, it would be huge for the Nuggets' playoff aspirations.
