For the first time this season, the Denver Nuggets are listing point guard Isaiah Thomas as questionable to play, meaning the All-Star is close to making his season debut.

The Nuggets take on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

Thomas underwent arthroscopic hip surgery in March of 2018. He hasn't played in an NBA game since March.

After splitting time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers last season, Thomas signed a free agent deal with the Nuggets last summer. He will back up Jamal Murray at the point guard position whenever he's ready to play.

Thomas averaged 15.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game last season with Cleveland and Los Angeles while shooting 37.3 percent from the field, 29.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line

It would be pretty cool to see Thomas make his season and Nuggets debut against the Kings, the team he began his NBA career with. Sacramento is also the place where Thomas and Denver head coach Michael Malone met and formed a strong bond.

The Nuggets are cruising through the season right now. They are 38-18 on the season, good for second place in the Western Conference.

Thomas has career averages of 18.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
