Denver Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas tweeted out his admiration for Dallas Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic on Tuesday night:
Doncic got HOOP game. Gotta keep it 💯

Real hoopers know what I’m talking about when I say “HOOP game”… it’s a difference between HOOPERS and good players

Game recognize game.

Luka Doncic has exceeded expectations as a rookie and has nearly played at an All-Star level. He's averaging 18.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists for the Mavs.
Isaiah Thomas has been recovering from injury this season and could return soon. He likely won't find a ton of playing time in the rotation, but he should be able to contribute positive minutes for an already great Nuggets offense.
Thomas is a seventh-year NBA veteran who has bounced around a few teams in his career. Most famously he was an MVP candidate for the 2016-17 Boston Celtics when he averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game. Since then, he has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers but hasn't played many games due to injuries.
The Nuggets have been playing extremely well this season. They are 21-9 and first in the NBA’s Western Conference under head coach Mike Malone.
The Nuggets have one of most prolific offenses in the entire league. Nikola Jokic's craftiness in the paint has made him one of the best big men in the game. His moves in the paint and his quick passing skills like a point guard make him hard to guard. Thomas coming back will only strengthen the offense coming off the bench.
The Nuggets will face off next against the Los Angeles Clippers in an away contest.
