Jamal Murray put up a second consecutive monster game in Game 5 between the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. As a result, his stellar performance put him in rare company.
In Game 4, Murray dropped 50 points in a loss to the Jazz. In Game 5, he followed it up with 42 points but this time, they got the win. His 92-point two-game tally is the most since Carmelo Anthony's 74 points in 2010.

Apart from swishing the net, Murray also did a splendid job taking care of the ball. In Games 4 and 5, Murray did not commit a single turnover. This makes the Nuggets star the first player to drop back-to-back 40-point games without turning the ball over.

Finally, Murray forged himself beside Michael Jordan himself. He is just the fifth player to follow up a 50-point game with a 40-point game. The last player to do it was Jordan in 1993.

Jamal Murray is averaging 30.8 points (53.2 percent from the field) in the playoffs so far. This is a major improvement from his regular-season average of 18.5 points (45.6 percent).
It is safe to say that Murray is tuned to a different gear in the postseason.
More importantly, Murray's Game 5 performance prevented the Nuggets from being eliminated. With the series now at 3-2 in favor of the Jazz, Murray must dig down deeper to prevent their exit.
The Nuggets have risen as one of the best teams in the league over the past couple of years. In 2019, they made it to the Conference Semifinals but lost in seven games to the Portland Trail Blazers. This 2020, they are looking to make a deeper playoff run. The odds are currently not in their favor, but don't ever count them out.
