You can't really say that there was no shortage of celebrities in Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat — especially if you compare it to the star power in the Nuggets' previous series against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ken Jeong, who isn't exactly a Hollywood A-lister, was in attendance in Denver's Ball Arena, though, and the actor received quite the royal treatment on the evening.
At one point in the game, Rocky the Mountain Lion, the Nuggets' always-entertaining mascot, decided to bring Jeong to the court as part of his dead-ball antics. Rocky drained a half-court shot and he wanted Ken Jeong to give it a try as well. It did not exactly end well for The Hangover star:
Oh no, Ken Jeong 😂

That wasn't even close. Naturally, NBA Twitter was buzzing after seeing that rather embarrassing attempt from Jeong:
Ken Jeong, who's apparently the only celebrity at Game 1 in Denver, is getting the royal treatment tonight. He's out on the floor shooting half-courters during this timeout.

Ken Jeong being the premiere celebrity/Nuggets fan here at Ball Arena tonight just confirms what I already knew: Community is the GOAT sitcom

To be fair, there were more tweets on there that came to Jeong's defense. Apparently, he's a legend among Denver fans, and they are more than happy to have Ken represent Nuggets nation on the biggest stage. It's just that he failed miserably with his half-court shot attempt. Then again, no one ever claimed that Mr. Jeong was a gem on the basketball court.
Whatever the case might be, it's the Nuggets that drew first blood in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Nikola Jokic and Co. outplayed the Heat en route to a dominant 104-93 victory. These two teams do it again on Sunday night as Denver looks to defend its home-court advantage against a feisty Miami side.
