Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone couldn't care less what critics have to say about his team.
Malone had a passionate postgame media session after Denver overcame a 19-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. He applauded his team for their talent and desire, while also stating the group believes they can win a championship.
Moreover, Malone took the time to chastise the idea that the Nuggets are a “cute” team.
In context, Michael Malone is probably referencing Denver's underdog status against a Clippers team many pegged as favorites to win the NBA title this year.
Los Angeles took a commanding 3-1 lead in the series following wins in Games 3 and 4. The Nuggets had overcome a 3-1 deficit in the first round against the Utah Jazz, but they would be hard-pressed to do the same against a hungry Clippers squad.

Except, Denver has done just that.
The Nuggets have not only evened the series, but they have also snatched all the momentum away from the Clippers. Los Angeles led by 15 points in the third quarter of Game 5, but they could not close the show. The Clips had an even bigger lead on Sunday, but Malone's squad simply would not fold.
Malone does not want anyone questioning his team's legitimacy. As he said, Denver was one of the best teams in the West last year, and they entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed this time around.
This Nuggets team has fought tooth and nail to contend for a championship, and now they are within one game of reaching the Conference Finals.
