Nikola Jokic made history on Thursday night after being the only player in NBA history to log 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists. It was indeed a historic evening for the one-of-a-kind Nuggets big man.

After Jokic led Denver to a 122-109 win over a surging Memphis Grizzlies side, the NBA on TNT crew had nothing but high praise for the Nuggets star. For Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade, he is extremely impressed by how Jokic continually sets the bar higher for himself:

“He continues to play against himself,” Wade said. “He's like topping himself… It's a beautiful brand of basketball to watch — to see a big guy control the game the way he does and the way he plays the game. It's just beautiful.”

Shaq echoed his co-host's thoughts. The Lakers legend spoke as one of the most dominant big men in league history as he gave Jokic his flowers:

“The great John Wooden said, ‘The true definition of a great player is one that makes his teammates better,'” Shaq said. “… As a big guy you have to appreciate 36 and 15, and 2,000 points, a thousand rebounds, and 500 assists. Definitely a great player and he plays his own way, his own style.”

This is yet another individual accolade for the reigning league MVP. However, knowing Jokic, I'm pretty sure he'd be more than happy to trade all of this for a title. The Nuggets have another shot at a championship this year and Jokic will need to be at his very best.
