Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is putting up MVP numbers this season, but he is not concerned whether he is in the MVP chatters or not.
Nikola Jokic has made quite the name for himself in recent years. His stats have increased on an impressive rate since his debut in 2015. In five games this season, the Serbian center has averaged 23.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.4 steals.
Besides being one of the best passing big men in the league, he's also an excellent free-throw shooter and has established a shot from various ranges.
There is a small number of big men in the league that play at the level that Nikola Jokic does, and his perfect triple-double against the Phoenix Suns last week is clear proof that he's a cut above the rest.

In an interview with Mike Singer of the Denver Post, Jokic revealed that he believes he is playing at the same level as Anthony Davis and LeBron James, but he avoided talks about winning the MVP and said that it seems “silly” for him.

“I'm just playing my game so if that's gonna make the MVP one day this year, next year, in next whatever years, yes, but I think it's still silly. I love it because it just makes me laugh.”
It's clear Jokic is not very concerned with his own personal stats in comparison to team success. The Nuggets superstar has four double-doubles already this season. The Denver organization and fan base do not hold back when voicing their opinion for Jokic. He sees things differently and displays his humble nature:
“I think maybe they just like me just because I'm one of them. I'm just a normal guy from a small city from Serbia, and maybe they see themselves in me, or something like that.”
He can remain humble all he wants, Jokic is an excellent player and everyone has noticed.
