Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is poised to win the 2020-21 season MVP award, and if he does end up getting the honor, he would be matching a Kobe Bryant record set some 13 years ago.
According to Hoops Hype, Jokic would be the first player to win the MVP plum without missing a single game on the season. Jokic has played in all 72 regular season games for the Nuggets, averaging a near triple-double of 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
In 2007-8 when Kobe won MVP and played the full 82 games, he averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 boards, 5.4 assists and 1.8 steals.
Nikola Jokic is the only All-Star to play the full schedule this season.
He would be the first MVP not to miss a single game since Kobe Bryant in 2007-08.

It would certainly be awesome if Nikola Jokic can win the MVP award this campaign. After all, he deserves it for leading the Nuggets to the third seed in the tough Western Conference–even after the injury to his running mate Jamal Murray late in the season.
Also, playing 72 games and consistently impacting winning the way Jokic did it is no easy feat. While a lot of players like LeBron James and Ja Morant have endorsed Stephen Curry as the true MVP, there is no denying that Jokic's credential cannot be easily downplayed. Plus, he is on a winning team like the Nuggets as compared to Curry's Golden State Warriors that were up-and-down throughout the year.
With how things are looking, it is more than likely that the Joker will win the MVP trophy and match that Kobe Bryant record. Hopefully for the Nuggets though, Jokic will be able to channel his Mamba Mentality come playoff time.
