On Saturday night, the Denver Nuggets recorded their sixth consecutive victory with a road 107-106 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Following the game, the team was understandably in a jovial mood, as aside from the win, they were also celebrating the recent announcement of head coach Michael Malone being selected as one of the two coaches for the upcoming All-Star game.

The team made sure that Malone knew how happy they were for him and his achievement:

The Nuggets are actually currently tied with the Golden State Warriors with the best record in the Western Conference. However, due to the tiebreaker rule, the Nuggets hold the edge over the Warriors, which placed Malone ahead of Dubs head coach Steve Kerr in the pecking order.

After getting his first call to the All-Star squad, Nuggets star Nikola Jokic will be joining his coach in the festivities of All-Star Weekend. It is not yet known whether Malone and Jokic will be on the same side, as the teams will be determined via draft. Malone will be coaching the LeBron James-captained side, so it will be up to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar if he decides to include Jokic on his team or not.

This is truly a very endearing moment between Malone and his squad, and they certainly have every right to celebrate. His recent recognition is not only a nod to his superior coaching skills, but more importantly, it acknowledges the hard work and determination exhibited by the Nuggets throughout the season.
