The Golden State Warriors will have acting head coach Mike Brown at the helm for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News.

While there's been reports about head coach Steve Kerr feeling a bit better than he did in previous series, the 51-year-old is apparently not feeling well enough to take the clipboard on Thursday night.

Brown will lead the Warriors for the 11th time this postseason, after having gone an impeccable 10-0 since taking over due to Kerr's health concerns.

Kerr was a participant in all the pre-series practices and preparations and is expected to be in the building for Game 1, likely addressing the team at halftime as customary per the last series — though Brown remains responsible for all the x's and o's tonight against a potent Cavaliers team.

“I imagine I’m going to coach until Steve tells me he’s ready,” Brown said during his pre-game presser.

The Warriors enter Oracle Arena after having gone 27-1 in their last 28 games dating back to the postseason. Golden State boasts the best record in the league at 36-5 in the regular season and a clean 6-0 in the playoffs.
