Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr admitted the team is more nervous in advance for tonight's Game 5 than it was prior to Game 4. They had a chance to make history and close it out at the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ home court.

The man at the helm expressed that nerves prior to an 18th meeting between the two teams at this stage in the past three years, noting it isn't necessarily a bad thing to be nervous before a game:

“Nervous is good,” Kerr said, according to Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News. “Appropriate fear.”

“Appropriate fear” is a mantra that Kerr has applied since becoming a coach in this league, constantly reminding his player that in order to reach greater heights, one has to be conscious of the possibility of losing, fearing it, but ultimately conquering said fear with means of preparation.

The Warriors have adapted this very saying, often commenting on it during interviews, making this game no exception to that rule. They're an NBA-best 31-10 at home for a reason and will look to make the most of the home-court advantage and become the first team since the 1974 Oakland Athletics to win a championship at home in the Bay Area.
